World acclaimed Igbo novelist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was on the 20th November 2019, honored by the United nation on the eve of its 75th anniversary as one of its universally recognized Global leaders.

Chimamanda Adichie was honoured for her work in using literature to unite people across generations on issues of gender and Racial equality and being a leader on the frontline of global progress. This is shortly after her masterpiece, Half Of A Yellow Sun was named one of the 100 novels that shaped our world by BBC.
The honorary statement in part stated, “From transforming global food system to defending human rights, using literature to connect people on issues relating to equality. We the people’s honorees continue to make invaluable contributions to the world. the foundation recognizes the value of their work in bringing life to the goals contained in the U.S Charter–to promote peace, justice and fundamental human rights to all people.”
