The senate minority leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of the PDP representing Abia South Senatorial district, yesterday, told Godswill Akpabio that but for the rules of the house, he would have asked him questions that would make him sweat at the senatorial screening.
The protocils of the senate house allows former lawmakers to take a bow and pass and it was on this account that the house was not allowed to question Godswill Akpabio because between 2015 and 2019, he represented Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial district, and before defecting from PDP to APC in the build up of the elections, he was the minority leader.
Abaribe said, “I would have made Godswill sweat… We all know that as an uncommon person, you would have worked very hard to make the relationship between the villa and the chambers an uncommon one.”
This was in the light of Akpabio’s earlier position when he said, “I will continue offering uncommon services to Nigeria through the current platform with integrity, dedication and love. I left office many years ago and the roads i did, 11 years later, there is not one pot hole. I rest my case on the CV before you.” he said. He further added, “It is my firm belief that the only way we can touch the lives of the average man in the society is through this hallowed chambers. Nothing really to say than what you already know. I am regarded as an uncommon performer in any place I go.”
