Igbo-British and award winning actor, Chinwetel Ejiofor, alongside Beyonce, Donald Glover and other stars of THE LION KING remake stormed The World Premiere on Tuesday night.
THE LION KING is originally a 1994 Disney movie which uses computer generated imagery to bring a realistic look to Pride rock.
The Remake depicts stunning African scenery and follows the same plot as the original Oscar-winning animation about the Lion cub, Simba, who fleas his Kingdom after his villainous uncle Kills his father, Mufasa and takes his place as king.
Actor, Donal Glover is the voice behind the grown up Simba, while Beyonce portrays his friend, Nala.
Chinwetel Ejiofor is the voice behind Scar while Seth Rogen is the voice behind Plumbaa and James Earl Jones is the voice behind mufasa in the remake of the 25 year old movie.
Donald Clover spoke about his elation working with Beyonce, stating that one did not always get a chance to work with someone as iconic as she is.
“I was like okay,” he said, “We are blending this thing together, so let me listen to what she is doing and try to play off of that.”
THE LION KING was an instant hit with audience around the world after its original release in 1994. And till this date, a hugely successful musical theatre still runs till this day in New York and London.
“It is like a recipe that will be delicious forever,” Seth said of the movie.
THE LION KING remake begins its worldwide cinema roll out on friday in China before hitting other countries next week. Following it are new versions of Alladin and Dumbo.
NAN reports the movie was directed by Jon Favreau who was also behind the 2016 remake of ‘The Jungle Book.’
