Popular music executive and entertainer, Ubi Franklin has made some interesting statements recently about his dealing with finance and why he may not have been rich as he ought to be and his choices which made it so.
Ubi Franklin was a recent guest at the Business Day TV show where he made the statement that having a lavish wedding with his ex wife, Lilian Esoro in 2015 is his biggest mistake with money.
He said, “I think the biggest mistake for me was the money for my wedding. That was the biggest mistake because a few guys that had the experience at the time told me to just do something small and go home. When I see people do big scale wedding, I just laugh because it’s a party, it’s just for one day and when it’s done, it’s done. Yes, they say memories, but you see, you can create memories without spending billions. So I think that is one of the biggest mistake I have made. If I had known, I would have done something smaller and classier than what I did because I did almost three months of different events.”
Ubi Franklin also said that he has made N10 billion Naira berween 2012 and now, even though he is not as rich as he should be because he has not invested his money as much as he should have. There were outbursts from commenter on social media afterwards, questioning the authenticity of this claim and Ubi Franklin also took to his Instagram page to defend himself.
