Nigerian youths ought to be gainfully employed to keep them away from crime -Comr Ojukwu Remigius
Young Leadership Association of Nigeria YLAN, on January 1 , congratulated Nigerians on new year.
In a message made available to journalists in Lagos by the National Secretary of the association, Comr Remigius Rabin Ekene Ojukwu.
Ojukwu said: “It is with heart full of joy that I want to welcome Nigerians to the new year and want to implore the Nigerian youths to cease from being involved in any activity that will jeopardize the peace, unity and economic growth of Nigeria as such action will definitely affect them in so many ways”
YLAN advised the federal government to take youth empowerment seriously in order to reduce unemployment in the country.
“Nigerian youths ought to be gainfully employed to keep them away from crime and the government can make this possible with meaningful and massive investment in the youths through vocational education for economic growth of Nigeria”
In tackling of fuel scarcity in the country, Comr Ojukwu stated that the issue of fuel scarcity in Nigeria is as result of dearth of political will from past administrations to fix our nation’s refineries so as to stop fuel importation.
” Christmas and new year celebrations have been put in a nightmare for Nigerians as the scare of long queues at fuel stations, longer hours in traffic, and spending double on daily expenses marred the joy of Nigerians in this festive season” . ” it’s disgraceful that Nigeria, one of the biggest producers of crude oil in the world is still relying heavily on importation of refined petroleum products to satisfy its energy demands”. It’s only a callous and irresponsible government that can do this to its governed ” “we are certain that the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will do anything constitutionally to bring lasting solution to this problem”
YLAN equally urged the youths of Nigeria to work hard in edification of Nigeria as a prosperous Nigeria is possible with our collective efforts.
